When it's raining it's raining

Damn me and my refusal to pay for buses.

So what was it raining this time? Drops of vodka? Wedding-rings? Curry-leaves? Polka-dots? Should I be glad I missed it?

Unfortunately is was just very wet rain, but I'm looking forward to being showered with adventure stories from Astrid!

I wish it would downpour here. Feels like YEARS since we've seen any rain. Even the hurricane passed us up!

I take it your refusal to pay for buses means that you had to walk in the rain? Rather than, you know, an irate conductor throwing a bucket of water over you?

Oh, and do you know how Swansea rates in the UK with regard to rainfall? For some reason I suspect it is in the Top 10. I might be lying though. That's the problem with me: I even fool myself sometimes.

Ha Ha! Come on though Huw, why would we have conductors as well as drivers? Why would we want to decrease the high unemployment here?

I think that Swansea has a bit of a micro-climate actually, average rainfall is about 1219mm. The wettest place is Seathwaite (Lake District) at 3300mm and the lowest is probably Essex at 573mm.

Go 40mins up the road into the mountains and it's a completely different story.

Scrap that actually Huw, it seems I'm just as bad as you are.

Swansea is officially Britains wettest CITY. More details here.

The weather-man predicted that the chance on a shower of Astrid's Amazing Adventures is 100% today.

I only like rain when it's huge drops and its still warm outside- nothing beats a good thunderstorm as well. Good thing you were going home after.. Can't imagine having to be somewhere and not able to change while the wet gets cold and starts to cling to your skin! and honestly changing into warm dry clothes after being wet like that is such a nice feeling...

Aarti - Don't delete your blog again... oh damn. Too late. I'll try and think of a name for you. Guju Girl was awsome though!

Mona - Half the fun of getting wet is changing into dry clothes afterwards and making a nice hot drink! I agree with you about the thunderstorms, they are one of my favourite things in the world!
