December - Hangover Heaven!

What a hectic couple of days! It's all luckily picked up a little since the crapness of Christmas has now gone.

Boxing Day had to put up with all of those expected relatives turning up, pretending that I liked the presents etc! Didn't have to deal with that one for too long as a family from the village next door (Talley) turned up to take us into town for a few drinks. The Mostyn family has Five kids to our Four but Three of them are the same age as Me, my Sister and Brother so we've always done stuff with them while growing up around here. So, into Llandeilo. Went to the Salutation Inn - used to be crap but it seems to have been renovated since I last came drinking here (2yrs ago) and is the place to be in Town!! Then the gang moved onto the Angel where I knew far too many people. It was taking twenty or so minutes to cross the pub because I kept on bumping into old school buddies and a few enemies too..! It was all a good craic really but I'd quite happily not go back for another year!

The Next day I had to dispose of my Grandmother who has been visiting from Bournemouth so I drove to Cardiff to drop her off at the train station in the morning. Wanted to stay down there and go drinking in the George but I also had my Mam in the car with me and I don't think that she would have appreciated that to be honest. Driving home I received a phonecall from some guy calling himself Owain - couldn't remember one off hand so I told him to fuck off. Got home and arranged to meet him in Glanamman - now, I haven't ever stopped in Glanamman ever, in fact I've only driven through it twice..! Had to meet in the Half Moon in Garnant, found it eventually after a bit of driving around and a quick phonecall! Indeed O was inside with MC Hyperdoopelator himself, feel blessed to have met such a legend!! Ha. No, we had a good time watching the Dragons/Blues rugby match and having a catch up. Funny thing too, as well as discovering that O's brother has 'met' my sister, he is also mates with my other sisters form teacher in Tre-gib school! Funny. After a nice afternoon in Garnant then I hot-footed it down to St.Davids for more of the usual..

Picked up Greggers' bro and his mate Simon from Haverfordwest and then went on to the Farmers Arms in St.Davids. The Farmers has to be one of my favourite pubs as it just has one of those amazing atmospheres in there, you know the one....? No? Anyway, we walked inside and were met with the sight of a local guy with his pants round his neck (after a nasty wedgie) while setting fire to his pubes with a lighter!! People were in stitches whereas in Cardiff he would have been out a LONG time ago! THAT kind of atmosphere! You know what I'm on about now don't you?! Saw Greggers O, did give him a slap but later on in the evening! Gave him a few apparently - can't remember myself! The night was a cracker, catching up with all the boys and girls down there - most of whom live in Cardiff anyway. Ended up in the legendary rugby club, where the mis-behaving was rife! Love it.

Next morning, woke up in my mate Bleddyns house in Treginnis - his mum made me breakfast and off we went back to Haverfordwest. Picked up Greggers sister Caz (also Bleddyns' girlfriend - one of those towns..!) from the train station then went straight back to the Farmers in St.Davids. Only ended up staying for a few games of pool and about four pints in the end as we discovered that the Rugby club wasn't open tonight - no point getting nailed really. Went back to Bledd's house and watched a Man U footy game - B.O.R.I.N.G. Slept through some of it, don't understand why people like football.

Drove back home on Wednesday and just chilled, played guitar and made sandwiches. Also watched King Arthur - was a bit shit really in my professional opinion!

Today went up to Ystrad Meurig (Near Pontrhydyfendigaid, near Tregaron... still don't know where that is?....) for a walk on Tregaron bog (largest peat bog in Wales, probably Britain, of it's type apparently) That was nice, then went to see my Grandparents in the same place (not the bog, but the village next to it). Had a cup of tea then pegged it back home before more cousins turned up - can't handle more family!.

So, I'm here now - still trying to decide what to do for New Years. Doubt I'll do much at all. A party going on in Cardiff sounds like a go-er, will have to see tomorrow!

Merry Kiss-m-ass.

THAT time of year again then. Not too impressed by that fact really - I'm not a big fan of the xmas period. You have to put up with your family being together for more than 4hrs at once, which is very hard work for me. Reminds me exactly why I left it the first place really! Gran appears and insists on watching Eastenders all holiday, and then complains that the picture would have been much better in Black and White... Present buying is another source of irritation for me, I hate receiving pressies as I have everything that I need and if I need something else then I'll go and buy it myself. This means that Christmas day is just one big disappointment in that department. As for me buying pressies for everyone else - can't do it, just end up buying a Boyzone cd (or something) for a family member that may have mentioned that they liked one of their songs in the last year...

I know that we should all be jolly and chuffed that we are lucky enough to have a family to share a huge fucking turkey with but I just can't deal with all the fuss that goes with it. It's winter, chill out a bit eh?

On a plus point, it snowed today! It ended up being thick enough to write HUGE offensive words in the field next door (something to cheer up the astronauts' looking down at us)!. My sister made the smallest Snowman in the world but I was a bit disappointed by its size so I dressed up as a snowman instead to try and make it look like we were having loads of fun. Hopefully the photos will come out okay, my nose still hurts from the carrots up there...

So, what have I been up to in the last month since the last update? Fuck all. Working all the time, sleeping when I'm not working and drinking when I'm not doing wither of those really. Last weekend was a good one, took a day off work on Friday (Because I was desperate for one) and went down to the big C for the last day of term. Drinking by about 3pm I think, knew that it was going to be a nasty night out when I set off the alarms at Tesco on Albany road and was too drunk (and embarrassed) to go back in and figure out why so I just walked off with the security guard knocking at the window! Figured out that I hadn't stolen anything, the nice lady at the counter had forgotten to remove the security tag from my 'fun' camera. Not guilty then. It was a usual George afternoon with the usual lot, then into the Students union for 6pm. 'The long good Friday' (formerly known as 'Drink The Bar Dry') was taking place - just another big piss up really. Anyways, had a good time (see nice piccie), almost started a couple of fights after some dodgy dancing moves that spilt other peoples drinks. The rest of the night has either been censored or forgotten - probably for the best!

Near the end of the Night...

Went to St.Davids on the Saturday for another afternoon of pop. Managed to get smashed again somehow - It's the festive spirit I guess. Drinking until 6am in one of the pubs - Highlights included one of the local lads eating a lump of coal! He had black, lumpy liquid in between his teeth and coming out of his mouth! Sick. Funniest part was he then went up to the bar to complain that the Guinness was bad! The barman even double checked! Hilarious!

So, I've got until 10th Jan off work - fuck knows what I'll be getting up to until then. More family are expected to turn up over the next few days and my brother also has his 19th birthday on the 28th. Woo hoo! (with a touch of sarcasm) There's new year to think about as well, can't top last year... (more sarcasm) I sat in my house in Cardiff all on my own drinking Whiskey until 11:30pm then ran round O and Po's place, dragged Po along (on his crutches) to the George to get there for the chimes - stayed for half an hour then went home again. On the way back home, found that Ginger guy ,that used to live with O, walking his girlfriend back to their house. It was tipping with rain and their house was ages away so in the New Year spirit I offered them my bed until the morning -what a nice guy - "No shagging" I said, half joking. Minutes later, they started shagging and fuck was she noisy! Chris wasn't a happy bunny on New Years day. Great start to 2004...

Still, everyone will have to let me know of their plans. It's looking like Cardiff, St.Davids or staying at home and chancing my arm at a good night in the local . hmmm.

Right, Eastenders is still on think, going to bed now and I'll be sure to make as much of a nuisance of myself as possible on the way back through the living room!

Mind Reading Blogs - the next step? Hopefully.

Think the blog chaps should come up with some kind of device that just trandsfers exactly what you want to write from your brain direct to your blog. Only for people like me that are way too exhausted to write anything at all!

The reason for my exhaustion has been my current job. I'm just knackered after working manually all day. "Pah!" Some people may say, "unfit bastard" but this is coming from someone that has not anything too strenuous in the last four or five years! The job involves lugging heavy bits of metal around, welding them together and drilling lots of holes mainly. Takes it out of me a bit!

The weekends have not been much better, just as exhausting but not in quite the same way if you know what I mean! Think the correct medical term is "Georgeitis Maximus". Every Friday since I've been back home, I've run out of work as quickly as possible then driven hell for leather down to Cardiff to get into the George! Usually down there at about 8pm where I proceed to get on with my usual business of 'entertaining' everyone else! I just love getting in there and being greeted warmly by the staff - "Fuck. Not him again. Carling is it?". Seriously though, after living in Cardiff for about a year and a half, I managed to meet a lot of people and I try to get in touch with them as much as possible - it's just plain good fun.

Best weekend by far was the NZ game - what a cracker! Started as usual in the George before heading into town to hook up with buddies from Home in the Square. I Was pretty bad by the time the game had started actually, a sign that the game was going to be good. KO was at 5:30, James from home and myself were singing out little hearts out joining the other 75000 people in a stirring rendition of 'Bread of Heaven' during the Haka! A bit cheeky but it seemed to do the trick! Don't remember much of the game, my head just recorded all the highlights really - a few tries, a few good tackles and meeting Andy Moore (ex-Wales. now a BBC presenter) whilst going for a piss at half-time "Stop pissing on my car he said!". Back to the George to be sick and to recover for a while before going on to the Students Union. I was generally be a little shit in the Union, the highlight being taking a lollipop out a girls mouth and rubbing all over face (no innuendo, really). Locked out of the house at 2am so wandered around looking for peoples houses to crash in, finally found one at 5:30am. The door was wide open so we walked in and crashed out!!! My mate Eirian found us in the morning "How the fuck did you two get in?", "I swear I'd locked the door last night" He had infact locked it but he had locked it while it was wide open! Nice to hear that everyone else was in just as badder state!

Weekend just gone was even better! Started off nicely with Japan losing badly, I wont mention the score as It shouldn't have really happened, a bit of a mis-match really. But hey, it was a Welsh win and a record breaking one at that! That put me in good stead for the the rest of the night! Students Union again I think it was. Saturday we watched the England / Australia match in the George with a few of the staff - an okay match which Aus won, just. But another boost for our Chris! All day in the George then, made it to the Woody (just for variation, ha ha!) then I think we all went to Barfly, More shenanigans entailed!

** Just a quick note, my adventures in Cardiff may sound uneventful really but I unfortunatly have to censor this article quite a lot as I feel that too many people may be offended - it's a conversation for the George if you're in there when I am! Thanks. **

Got to bed at about 3am, my mate Bleddyn let me into the house - he knew somthing was up as I was charging around the house with an Irish accent. I had just woken him up in the middle of the night and the only thing he could say to me was "Chris, why are you Irish?" This is somthing that I couldn't explain but the next thing I knew, I had gone out again to go drinking (It was 3:30am by this time - nowhere open) again. Managed to get into some random bar that stayed open until 4:30 or somthing - and was in the company of my Irish mate Conor and a few of his friends from Dublin (the reason for the accent? Probably). This bar was amazing, people drinking, smoking, passing out and the like, - all at 4 in the morning. So that place closed, off home? No. Conor knew ANOTHER place - stayed in this bar for another couple of hours - I had finished my last pint at about 6:15am - I knew that this was my last pint because Conor was fading away as was his mate and I was getting chatted up by a drag queen that thought I was from Dublin - and I was going along with it....fabricating an entire story about my life in Ireland.... it all became too much to make up so I just left. Home at 7am. Ooh.

Back to the George at 2pm to collect my belt (??) then drove to the Gower and to Llangennith to go and see the beach and to chill out. There was a beautiful sunset over Swansea bay so I decided to visit the Beach. I went down with Andy (from Llanelli) and had food in the Kings Head (possibly my favourite pub in the world as it's in such a brilliant setting on the Gower - overlooking the sand dunes, an amazing surf beach, Worms Head and a couple hills! Nice.)

As I wandered along the beach, I thought to myself - What an amazing Fucking country Wales is! I think that loads of people will agree!
